Gateshead beer & music festival is back for a 8th commencing year!
Gateshead Beer & Music Festival first started off in 2010 with the emphasis on creating a great local community festival.
Moving forward seven years the festival has grown into an event that is loved both locally and nationally, whilst maintaining its community beliefs. In 2016 we were delighted to be named as a Finalist in the Tyne & Wear Lifestyle awards – Best live experience.
The festival organisers pride themselves on striving to improve the festival year on year, this year there are no exceptions with the introduction of the Craft Can Bar, the new and improved Cider bar, the addition of premium lagers and a new food area.
Once again we have a great selection of Ales & Ciders that are sourced countrywide; however, we always ensure that we provide a great springboard for local brewers to showcase their products In addition to the popular Cava bar, we will see the return of our Gin filled Jam Jar Bar.
As always we have 3 days of great music and headlining this year we have The Shakes on the Saturday and Swede Dreamz – Abba Tribute on Sunday.
On the Friday we a have a triple bill of headliners, we are delighted to welcome back the legendary Revolutionaires who will tear through a set off jumpin’ hot rhythm & blues! Big Red & the Grinners will be performing a hign energy set of Rockgrass and we’ve also add Keswick Festival Regulars The Emerald Thieves.
Our line-up has something for everyone… highlights include a set from The Zen who are one of the top eighties bands on the circuit, South Shields legends The Understudies who will be roaring through a set list of guilty pleasures.
The Sleeze Sisters will be dressing to impress as they tear through a set of glam rock classics. We are particularly looking forward to Sunday in which we have the high energy hip hop band “Hip Hop Hooray who will be performing some absolute classics followed by one of the countries top Abba tribute bands Swede Dreamz.
We will also have performances from The Paul Skerritt band, Stan, The Maverick Rejects, Ste Johnson, Giroscope, Silver Skiffle and many many more The Gateshead Beer and Music Festival opens at 12pm and closes at 11pm.
